"From the Big House to The Bungalows"

An Exhibition of Photographs of Kilcornan House, the adjacent Bungalow Village and Demesne.

Since April 2015 I've worked with The Brothers of Charity Services to document Kilcornan House, life in the Bungalow Village and Kilcornan Demesne.

The Brothers of Charity Services, here since the 1950’s are now going through a period of great change. Our aim is to document these changes using still photography, audio and video against the “backdrop” of the Redington Estate in Clarenbridge, Co Galway.

This Exhibition of still photographs can be viewed in the Swimming Pool complex at Kilcornan House, Clarenbridge, Co Galway. Open during office hours weekdays and weekends 9am-5pm.

Kilcornan House, Clarenbridge, Co Galway.

Kilcornan House was originally owned by the Redington family during the 19th century. The Brothers of Charity Services took over the property in the 1950's to provide care to individuals in the local community. The house still has many of the Redington family's fixtures and fittings and these are "layered" with modern contemporary furniture and equipment of a large charitable organization.

This ongoing photographic investigation serves to document this changing process throughout the old house and its demesne.
