At the suggestion of Jennie Ricketts (http://www.jenniericketts.com/ ) I have begun to contact musicians and people I photographed during the 80's Pub Rock era in Birmingham to shoot a collection of portraits contrasting their images from nearly thirty four years ago with the present. This is Nik Lloyd shot at the Hare & Hounds, King's Heath, 2014 and his photograph from The Railway, Curzon St, 1981.
Whilst working through my negatives from late 70/80's I discovered this shot. I was photographing Blues band "No Faith" at rehearsal in the Lozells Leisure Centre, Birmingham, UK, Sept 1979. This group of very young Mods came in to listen and asked me to take a group photograph. Shot on Ilford HP5 with an Exakta RTL1000 camera.
Photographs from Western Region Brass and Military Band Festival 4th May 2014. Hosted by St Patricks Brass Band, Galway. The festival is reviving the annual festivals which took place throughout the 80's. Launched in Eyre Square, bands then went The Meyrick Hotel to perform later in the afternoon.
